A fake account on X (formerly known as Twitter) posted a clip of Mohammad Hafeez taking a catch of Michael Vaughan at the boundary line. However, Vaughan responded cheekily, saying that it was one of his most impressive shots in ODI cricket.

Mohammad Hafeez praised Ben Stokes for his century against the Netherlands, describing him as the “savior of the ship”. Hafeez indirectly took a dig at Virat Kohli, highlighting Stokes’ aggressive intent for the team’s maximum runs in the final overs.

Michael Vaughan criticized Mohammad Hafeez for his comments, highlighting the challenging pitch conditions in Kolkata. He dismissed Hafeez’s claim of Kohli playing a ‘selfish’ innings, calling it “utter nonsense.”

“Come on @MHafeez22 !!! India have hammered 8 teams playing great cricket .. @imVkohli now has 49 tons and his last was an anchor role innings on a tricky pitch .. His team won by over 200 !!!! This is utter nonsense .. #CWC2023 #India #Pakistan,” Vaughan wrote.

Virat Kohli reached his 49th ODI century against South Africa, scoring 101 runs off 121 deliveries with the help of 10 boundaries. He helped the team reach a total of 326 runs in 50 overs. In response, the South African team was bowled out for just 83 runs in 27.1 overs.
