Virat Kohli Trolled By Barmy Army For 9-Ball Duck; Indians Respond After Joe Root, Ben Stokes Bag Ducks
[ad_1]
England supporters club Barmy Army trolled India National Cricket Team batting superstar Virat Kohli for his 9-ball duck in the 29th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, October 29.
Virat Kohli has been in red-hot form in the ongoing edition of the ICC World Cup 2023. He has been among the top run-getters and has won India matches with his batting brilliance.
However, the Indian batting great suffered a rare failure in the match against the defending champions England. He came to bat after the dismissal of Shubman Gill for a low score and got dismissed for a 9-ball duck, leaving India in a difficult position.
This was the first duck bagged by Virat Kohli in the history of the ICC Cricket World Cups. Also, he equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most ducks in international cricket.
Most Ducks for India
(While batting at Top 7)
34 – Virat Kohli*
34 – Sachin Tendulkar
31 – Virender Sehwag
30 – Rohit Sharma
29 – Sourav Ganguly
England’s Barmy Army took to X to troll Kohli after his batting failure with a morphed photo of a duck.

Indians Respond To Barmy Army Trolling Virat Kohli After Ben Stokes, Joe Root Bag Ducks
Chasing a small target of 230, England batters performed extremely poorly, and two of their top batters – Joe Root and Ben Stokes – bagged ducks. Root came to bat in powerplay after the dismissal of Dawid Malan and he was dismissed for a golden duck.
Joe Root has struggled in the powerplay overs since the ICC World Cup 2019. In 18 innings, he has scored just 50 runs at an average of 4.54 and a strike rate of 37.87. Also, he has been dismissed 11 times between 1-10 overs. Just like Kohli, Root was out for a golden duck in the ODI World Cup for the first time.
There were a lot of expectations from Ben Stokes, but he too failed miserably. Stokes couldn’t survive against sensational Mohammed Shami and he was dismissed for a 10-ball duck. Eventually, England were bundled out for 129 in 34.5 overs to lose the match by 100 runs. Following the dismissal of Root and Stokes for ducks, Indian fans brutally trolled Barmy Army.
