Virat Kohli Angry Send Off Ben Stokes Goes Viral During IND Vs ENG World Cup 2023 Fixture Goes Viral

[ad_1]

India beat England by 100 runs at their ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 fixture at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday (October 29). While India were in a spot of bother after they were reduced to 40/3 post being asked to bat first for the first time in the tournament with Virat Kohli getting out for a nine-ball duck, captain Rohit Sharma, going against his own strategy of attacking from the word go, scored 87 off 101 to guide India to a fighting total. Suryakumar Yadav’s 49 off 47 and KL Rahul’s 39 off 58 were also vital knocks but the team managed 229/8 which looked a below par total even on a tricky surface.

However, with the ball in hand, India more than made it up with their seamers setting up a fine win. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers with figures 4 for 22 while Jasprit Bumrah was also impressive with 3/32. It was Shami who dismissed Ben Stokes for a 10-ball duck which opened the gates of the middle order. Stokes looked clueless against Shami and once the seamer finally cleaned him up, it was an animated send off by Kohli that caught eyeballs. The video of the same has surfaced online.

India Almost Seal A Place In Semis

India’s victory more or less makes them them the first team to secure qualification for the semifinals with six wins in a row. They also remain the only team to remain undefeated. Moreover, they have gone back to the top of the points table with 12 points from 6 matches. The defending champions are on the verge of elimination with 2 points after 6 matches and a net run rate (NRR) of -1.652, which is worse than that of Bangladesh. India’s next World Cup match will be against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 2. England, on the other hand, will face arch-rivals against Australia in their next match in Ahmedabad on November 4.
