David Warner continued his fine form in the World Cup 2023 as he scored his second consecutive hundred in the tournament on Wednesday, October 25.
This was Warner’s sixth hundred in World Cups and moved him level with Sachin Tendulkar in the all-time list, just below India’s Rohit Sharma, who has seven to his name.
Warner had roared back to form during the match against Pakistan in Bangalore when he survived an early scare to score 163 runs and help Australia win their second win on the trot.

Warner’s performance in this match was noteworthy. Despite not having a great start to his 2023 World Cup campaign, he showed resilience and determination against the Netherlands. He started the match with some difficulty, facing off against Paul van Meekeren.
However, Warner managed to turn the tide in his favor. Throughout the match, Warner demonstrated his batting prowess. He hit the day’s first six and continued to score, reaching a half-century off just 40 balls. His aggressive batting style saw him hitting powerful shots, including a clean maximum and a crisp four along the same line.
Warner would change gears after his fifty and continued to dish out punishment on the Dutch bowlers. The Aussie opener had a couple of close calls, first with a potential run-out but managed to survive. He was then caught off the bowling of Bas de Leede but upon review, the umpire turned down the decision.
The opener would slow down a bit, allowing the likes of Labuschagne and Inglis take the charge and get the scoring rate high.
Warner would then get to his hundred with a boundary in 91 balls and hit 11 fours and three sixes. With the knock in Delhi, Warner also broke into the top five run-getters for World Cup 2023 and went past the likes of Mohammad Rizwan, Rachin Ravindra and Rohit Sharma.
