Speaking exclusively to Sports Tak, Yuvraj said Rohit bats on a different level, adding that he is and has always been a team player. Rohit has led India to 10 straight wins in the 2023 World Cup, while scoring 550 runs in the tournament.

“Rohit Sharma bats on a different level. If he plays 40 balls, he’ll score 7-80 runs. If he plays 100 balls, he might score a double hundred. Rohit Sharma is a team player, he’s always been a team player. For him, the team always comes first. That’s the reason he’s been so successful, especially in white-ball cricket,” said Yuvraj.

He went on to say that Rohit is a very good captain under pressure and has the experience of leading teams to titles in the Indian Premier League.Rohit has won 6 IPL titles in his career, winning five of them as captain of Mumbai Indians.

“The good thing about Rohit is that he’s a very good captain under pressure. He’s gained a lot of experience with the five IPL titles that he’s won. He knows when and how to use his bowlers,” Yuvraj added.

The final will be played between hosts India and five-time champions Australia. The Men in Blue are enjoying a 10-match winning run in the tournament, having topped the league stage with a perfect record before defeating New Zealand by 70 runs in the semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

As for the Aussies, they finished third in the group stage, winning seven and losing two games. After going down against India and South Africa, Australia went on a seven-match winning run in the league stage.
