Legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather has sent his best wishes to the Indian team after they made it to the final of the World Cup 2023.
India’s journey to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final has been nothing short of spectacular, showcasing their dominance in the sport. The team, led by Rohit Sharma and with Virat Kohli in top form, remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, a testament to their consistent and high-caliber performances.

The campaign began with a challenging match against Australia in Chennai, where India’s spinners shone and, despite an early setback, Kohli and KL Rahul steered the team to a six-wicket victory. Following this, India faced Afghanistan in Delhi, where Rohit Sharma’s attacking century ensured a swift chase of the target in just 35 overs.
A significant highlight was the match against arch-rivals Pakistan in Ahmedabad, where Jasprit Bumrah’s exceptional bowling led to a dramatic Pakistani collapse, setting up a comfortable seven-wicket win for India. Against Bangladesh, Kohli’s century was instrumental in chasing down the target, while Mohammed Shami, who replaced the injured Hardik Pandya, delivered a scintillating five-for against New Zealand in Dharamsala.
India’s record-breaking win came against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, where they triumphed by a staggering 302 runs. Kohli continued his stellar performance, equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s record with his 49th ODI hundred against South Africa in Kolkata.
In the semi-final against New Zealand in Mumbai, Kohli’s landmark 50th ODI ton and Shami’s career-best bowling figures of 7/57 sealed India’s spot in the final.
Talking to the CEO of the NBA team Sacramento Kings, Vivek Ranadive, Mayweather sent his best wishes to the side ahead of their final.
“I want to say to the Indian cricket team, congratulations. You guys are the best to making it to the final of the World Cup,” said Mayweather.
India will be facing Australia in the final on November 19 in Ahmedabad.
