The New Zealand National Cricket Team batting great Ross Taylor has picked Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah as the best batsman and bowler in world cricket currently.
Kohli has performed exceptionally well for India in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and he currently sits at the No.2 position on the list of leading run-getters in the marquee tournament. So far, the batting maestro has smashed 442 runs in 7 innings at an outstanding average of 88.40.
Talking about Jasprit Bumrah, the right-arm quick has looked threatening with the ball in the World Cup and he has troubled the batters with his accurate lines and lengths. He currently is the third-highest wicket-taker in the World Cup 2023 with 15 wickets in his bag.
The duo of Kohli and Bumrah will be seen in action when the Men In Blue go head-to-head with the South Africa National Cricket Team on Sunday, November 5 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
“I think it’s hard to go past Virat Kohli” – Ross Taylor on world’s best batsman
In a video shared by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Ross Taylor picked India are the favorites for the World Cup 2023. He said:
“Well, I think, the favourites for the tournament are India with the way they are playing, being fantastic, obviously home conditions.”
The Kiwi great was further asked to pick the best batter and most fearsome bowler in world cricket currently.
“I think it’s hard to go past Virat. I think in one-day format, he’s the best player. Him and Sachin are the best ever one-day players,” he said.
“I am glad I am retired because Bumrah used to always give us nightmares, I think to the New Zealand team. Obviously, He’s just come back from injury and bowled fantastically well. I think currently he is probably a player that a team tends to scout and prepare well for,” he added.
He further picked New Zealand star Mitchell Santner as the best fielder in modern-day cricket. Notably, Santner has the biggest impact on the field at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 after six group games for each country.
“I think Mitchell Santner. He took a fantastic catch in this tournament. Very good fielder, same for the bowling as well,” he added.
