Pakistan Tour Of Netherlands Postponed Due To Scheduling Problems: Reports

[ad_1]

Pakistan’s likely tour of the Netherlands next year is postponed for the moment due to scheduling problems as per reports in Cricbuzz. Pakistan was supposed to tour the Netherlands in May next year but now it has been called off momentarily.

The KNCB received a request from the PCB to postpone amid tight schedule in the national team’s calendar. Meanwhile, the two boards are looking for a window to reschedule the series.

The national team had initially planned to tour the Netherlands following their CWC Super League series in Rotterdam in 2022 in May next year. The tour was kept just ahead of Pakistan’s tour to Ireland followed by a trip to England. Before that the Men in Green will be playing a home series against New Zealand in April. Thus the window was not enough for this series to be scheduled which was eventually postponed.

Pakistan’s Tour Of The Netherlands Called Off

“We’re obviously disappointed but of course, we understand the situation, and remain optimistic a new window will be found to play the series either at home or away,” KNCB High Performance Manager Roland Lefebvre told Cricbuzz.

Meanwhile, both teams are fresh from the ICC World Cup 2023. Pakistan failed to make it to the semi-finals losing five out of their nine league games and finishing fifth on the table. The Dutch finished ninth on the table with just two wins and seven losses.

Pakistan began their campaign against the Netherlands in Hyderabad. They scored 286 batting first in the match and bowled out the Dutch for just 205 in 41 overs. The Netherlands defeated Bangladesh and South Africa in the World Cup. Their win over the Proteas was one of the upsets in the tournament.

Pakistan will next travel to Australia for a three-match Test series from December 14, 2023-January 7, 2024. The Test matches will be played in Perth (Dec 14-18), MCG (Dec 26-30) and SCG (Jan 3-7) respectively.
