“No Reason Why…,” David Warner’s Take On If Virat Kohli Can Play Till 2031 World Cup

[ad_1]

Australian cricketer David Warner gave a staggering reaction while talking about the possibility of Virat Kohli playing in the 2031 World Cup. The Australian batter didn’t hesitate and stated that there’s no reason why the Indian batter can’t play as he’s very fit.

Virat Kohli arguably is one of the fittest cricketers in the world. Despite being in his mid-30s, it’s fair to say that he can play the game for one more decade. The reason behind this has been his exceptional commitment and training that he puts in before the game.

Virat Kohli was recently part of the Indian squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 and he set the stage on fire with his staggering performance. The right-hander ended the tournament as the leading run-getter with over 700 runs, which is the most by any batter in the single edition of the tournament.

Virat Kohli scored 765 runs in the 11 innings at a staggering average of over 95. The right-hander also smashed 3 centuries and 6 fifties. Although it wasn’t a fairytale ending for him as India lost in the final.

One of the main questions that revolve around Virat Kohli is till when he can play. There are a lot of speculations if he will play in the 2027 World Cup or not. The answer to this question will be known with the time. However, with the way he’s batting, it’ll be no surprise if he continues even after that.

But for David Warner, Virat Kohli can play till the 2031 World Cup. Replying to a fan, who hoped for the Indian batter to till that tournament, the Australia batter said the right-hander can play till that.

“No reason why he can’t, he is very fit and loves the game so much,” David Warner tweeted

David Warner also reacted to a fan, who asked him if he would play in the 2027 World Cup.

‘Sir, will you play the 2027 World Cup also? I want to see you in that WC please,” the fan asked.

Replying to this, David Warner said” ‘2031’ with an emoji, indicating the sarcasm in his answer.

Virat Kohli to be next seen in action during the South Africa Tests

Virat Kohli, who was last seen in action during the ICC World Cup 2023, has been named in the Indian squad for the Test series against South Africa. The batter has asked for the rest in the ODIs and T20Is and will join the team once the white-ball leg concludes.

Virat Kohli will be eager to make his presence felt in the Test Team. India don’t have a good record in Test cricket in South Africa. It’ll be a great opportunity for them to script history this time around.

Here is India’s squad for 2 Tests against South Africa

Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan (wk), KL Rahul (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Mohd. Shami*, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Prasidh Krishna.
