“Most Ridiculous Series” – Michael Vaughan Lambasts Scheduling Of India vs Australia T20I Series
[ad_1]
Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan wasn’t happy with the the scheduling of ongoing India vs Australia T20I series. He said that both the teams shouldn’t have been playing as they recently competed in the ICC World Cup 2023.
India and Australia are currently locking horns with each other in the five-match T20I series. What has been surprising was the series kickstarted a few days after the ICC World Cup 2023 concluded. Both teams played final of the tournament and were yet again in action after four days.
Although India fielded a completely different side in the series, the Australian squad had quite a few members from the World Cup squad. The players looked absolutely tired and the governing bodies of both the nations received a lot of criticism as well for the timing of the series.
Even Australian player Mitchell Marsh wasn’t amazed with it. He said that his team didn’t get a chance to celebrate the World Cup because they had to prepare for the next series. He also stated that it was a tiring campaign and would’ve been good if players got more time to spend with their families before playing.
Recently Michael Vaughan took to his X account and talked about the series. He criticized the timing of the games, stating that it’s the most ridiculous series. He wrote:
“The most ridiculous series … Non of them should have been playing.”

IND vs AUS: India lead the five-match T20I series 3-1
India have already sealed the five-match series 3-1 with the last game currently taking place in Bengaluru. The young team under Suryakumar Yadav has been fantastic. They produced an exceptional performance in the first game as they chased a mammoth total of 209 runs, which is the highest by India in T20Is.
In the second game, they bagged a 44-run win as after posting 235 runs, they restricted Australia to just 191 runs. Australia however, made a staggering comeback in the third and made sure that the series stayed alive. They chased a gigantic total of 223 runs with 5 wickets in hand. The Men in Blue then pounded Australia at Raipur by 20 runs to take the unassailable lead.
