Mohammad Kaif Left Red-Faced For Attacking Australia As His Viral 7-Year Old Tweet Exposes Him

Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has been left red-faced due to one of his old posts which recently went viral on X. The former batsman has been all over the social media in recent times due to his constant attack on Australia.
It all began after India’s heartbreaking loss against Australia in the final of the ODI World Cup last month. Team India were the favourites to win the title-decider after their dominating run in the competition that included an impressive 6-wicket win over Australia in the league stage. However, India failed to do well in the final and lost the game by 6 wickets as the team from Down Under thoroughly outplayed them.
Reacting to the loss, Mohammad Kaif had undermined Australia’s World Cup triumph by stating that Team India were the best team in the World Cup. Speaking on Star Sports, he had said: “I can never accept that the best team has won the World Cup. The Indian team is the best team on paper.”
Unsurprisingly, his comments had not gone down well with many including the Indian fans. Australia opener David Warner had also expressed his disappointment over Mohammad Kaif’s statement as he took to X to write: “I like MK, issue is it does not matter what’s on paper. At the end of the day you need to perform when it matters. That’s why they call it a final. That’s the day that counts and it can go either way, that’s sports.”
Mohammad Kaif left red-faced:
After facing backlash, the former cricketer had clarified his statement by acknowledging Australia’s World Cup triumph but insisted that India were the best ream in the tournament as he wrote on X: “Facts: It was Australia’s day in final, they won, they are World Cup winners. More facts: India comprehensively won 10 games, they lost 11th, they had the best bowlers and batters. They were the tournament’s best team. Both facts, on paper and on field. Relax Australia (sic).”
On Monday (December 4), Mohammad Kaif took another subtle dig at Australia after their defeat in the recently-concluded T20I series against India. The Men in Blue clinched the series by a margin of 4-1. Reacting to the series triumph, Mohammad Kaif wrote: “”Better talent, better skills. This time the better team on the field, and on paper, won. 4-1.”
As the former batsman’s recent posts and statements divided opinions, an old tweet from him went viral. The tweet has left the fans amused as Kaif had shared a contrasting view in it. He had posted the tweet after South Africa’s exit from the 2016 T20 World Cup, writing:
“Disappointing to see one of my fvrt #SA exit early from #WT20.it doesn’t matter how strong you are on paper, you have to perform on the day”
