India Women Vs South Africa Women 2nd ODI: Indian opener Smriti Mandhana registered her maiden ODI wicket as she dismissed Sune Luus with only her second ball of the match, as the Proteas batter nicked the outside-off bowl to the keeper Richa Ghosh. As soon as she picked up the wicket, the whole M. Chinnaswamy Stadium wenr berserk alongside the whole Indian team, as they could not believe what unfolded before their eyes.

Smriti Mandhana hardly bowls for the India Women, but was seen bowling in the nets before the commencement of the series. The Indian side is spoilt for choices with the ball, as they have plenty of options in thier ranks, and with Smriti Mandhana chipping in with few valuable overs or even wickets, the Amol Majumdar-coached side will be pleased to see the variety they have on their hands.

Smriti Mandhana played out a five-match T20I series against Bangladesh Women, where she managed to score 116 runs in 5 innings, at an average of 29 and strike rate of 114.85.

However, Smriti Mandhana is on a whole different run in the ongoing India Women Vs South Africa Women ODI Series, as she has scored two conescutive centuries. The left-handed opener has registered 253 runs in 2 innings, at an average of 126.5 and a strike rate of 102.43.
