[ad_1]

Mumbai Indians (MI), one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has made a significant move to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2024 IPL players’ auction. In a recent announcement, the five-time IPL champions revealed that they have successfully acquired the services of a prominent West Indies’ dynamic all-rounder through a trade with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Mumbai Indians include a versatile all-rounder to their squad

Romario Shepherd, the 28-year-old Guyanese all-rounder, has been added by Mumbai to their squad. Shepherd, who has played 4 IPL matches, was traded to MI for his existing fee of INR 50 Lakh. He comes with an impressive reputation as a versatile cricketer. Known for his all-round skills, Shepherd can be relied upon to contribute both with the ball and the bat.

He is equipped with a wide range of bowling tricks and variations, making him a valuable asset for any team’s bowling attack. Additionally, Shepherd’s ability to finish innings with powerful hitting has earned him recognition as a dependable lower-order batsman.

Journey from Guyana to West Indies

Shepherd made his domestic debut for Guyana in the Regional Super50 competition in 2016. His immediate impact on debut marked the beginning of a promising career. Shortly after, he secured a deal with the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). In 2018, his impressive performances earned him a call-up to represent the West Indies at the international level.

A new chapter

The trade with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) now brings Shepherd to the Mumbai Indians, making MI the third IPL franchise he has represented. The star all-rounder had previously played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 season and joined Lucknow Super Giants in 2023.
