After Ireland and Pakistan, Team India takes on USA in New York in the third game of their World Cup campaign. This is the third game for the USA as well.

The IND vs USA ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match will be played in New York on June 12, Wednesday from 8 pm IST which is 10.30 am local time.

India

India led by Rohit Sharma will look for their third win of the T20 World Cup campaign. The side won successfully against the likes of Ireland first and then Pakistan. The win against Pakistan came very hard with the bowlers standing up and backing the batters.

They successfully defended 119 with Jasprit Bumrah taking 3/14. The Men in Blue had an unbeaten run in the ICC World Cup 2023 league stage and lost in the final to Australia. Rohit is thus very keen to end India’s wait to win their next ICC title.

The side has enough depth with bat and ball and have players who did well in the bat recently in the IPL. The Indian side will look for a big win over the USA but will be wary of the threat that they bring with them. They will take a lot of confidence from their win against Pakistan heading into the game against the USA.

USA

The USA have played two back-to-back good games. They certainly dominated Canada but their win against Pakistan is one of the upsets of the tournament so far.

The minnows have toppled one of the tournament favorites and are now eyeing to go past India. Ali Khan and Saurabh Netravalkar have been the key bowlers to perform for the side.

Skipper Monank Patel, Andries Gous, and Aaron James make up the batting core of the side along with former Kiwi all-rounder Corey Anderson who is now playing for the US.

The US so far have been the giant killer and is eyeing its next target.

Virat Kohli vs Ali Khan

The two players have not yet faced each other professionally. However, Kohli with his success, will be Ali Khan’s first target with the ball. Removing him early will give the USA a big edge in the game.

Rohit Sharma vs Saurabh Nethralvakar

The former India U-19 bowler will bowl to the Indian skipper in the match. This is another big match-up in the game with Rohit Sharma having problems against left-arm pace early on.

Aaron James vs Jasprit Bumrah

James is already among the top scorers in this T20 World Cup so far. He is the second-highest run-getter with 130 runs from just two games including a 94 against Canada. He will be up against Jasprit Bumrah which might be a defining battle.

IND vs USA Key Players 

For India, as always Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been key players in ICC events. With the ball, Bumrah, Kuldeep, and Arshdeep Singh will be key.

For the USA, Aaron James, skipper Monank Patel, and Andries will be key. With the ball, Ali Khan, Saurabh Netravalkar, and Harmeet Singh are key bowlers.

IND vs USA Weather and Pitch Report

The weather will be decent for the match which starts at 10.30 am IST. There is no rain threat. The weather conditions for be partly sunny with temperatures around 25 degrees in the morning. Humidity will be around 50 percent and there is no rain threat whatsoever. Conditions are rather pleasant for this game.

The match will be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The pitch has been a talking point throughout the competition so far. The uneven bounce and pace of the pitch have been a concern for the batters. No high-scoring games have been played so far. It will be interesting to see how the match pans out.

This is the very first game between India and the USA on the international stage and the USA have certainly proved that they are no pushovers with two big wins against Canada and Pakistan.
