IND vs AUS: Yuzvendra Chahal’s cryptic post after India snub for T20 series against Australia

[ad_1]

Yuzvendra Chahal, the leading wicket-taker in T20I cricket for India with 96 scalps in 50 matches, recently found himself excluded from the Indian cricket team’s squad for the T20I series against Australia. Despite this setback, the seasoned leg-spinner showcased his prowess by taking a remarkable six-wicket haul in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match for Haryana against Uttarakhand.

Following his outstanding performance, Chahal shared a cryptic post with the caption “See you at work,” accompanied by a photo and a quote.

“To hold it together when everyone else think otherwise, that’s the strength of a true warrior,” the photo in Chahal’s post read.

After the T20I snub, Yuzvendra Chahal is back playing domestic cricket for his home team Haryana. He made an instant impact in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with his 6-wicket burst against Uttarakhand.

This was not the first time that Chahal was dropped from the team in recent times. The leg spinner did not play a single match in the T20 World Cup 2022, and was also not named in India’s ODI World Cup squad. Chahal, however, was present in the Indian dressing room during the tournament, while visiting the stadium for the matches.

The leg-spinner has been doing the hard yards behind the scene. Chahal was adjudged the player of the match for his sensational figures of 6/26 from 10 overs which helped Haryana defeat Uttarakhand on 23 November, Thursday. During this game, he achieved the milestone of 200 List A wickets.

The veteran leg-spinner’s exclusion from the national team may fuel his motivation to stay visible on the selectorial radar, especially with the T20 World Cup 2024 approaching.

Meanwhile, India got off to a great start in the T20I series against Australia. The team pulled off a 2-wicket win by chasing down 209 runs, which is India’s highest ever chase in the T20Is. Suryakumar Yadav played a captain’s knock with 80 runs off 42 balls and Rinku Singh with his 22-run cameo sealed victory for India.

India’s spinner was hit for 54 runs in his four overs and it will be interesting to see if the selectors will turn back to Yuzvendra Chahal in he lead up to the T20 World Cup.
