The IND vs AFG Super 8 match will be played in Barbados on Thursday, June 20 from 8 pm IST which is 10.30 am local time. This is the first Super 8 match of Group 1 with two heavy werights taking on each other.

India won their first three games against the USA, Pakistan, and Ireland and had their match with Canada out in Lauderhill. They now take on Afghanistan in their first Super 8 match on Thursday followed by matches against Bangladesh (Saturday, June 22) and Australia (Monday, June 24).

They had rather easy games against the USA and Ireland and eked out a nervy win against Pakistan to keep their winning run against them intact.

This is the first time in this World Cup campaign that India will be playing in the Caribbean. So far they had a taste of cricket in the US and it was a fairly successful run. Unfortunately, Florida hosted just one game.

Talking about Afghanistan, they qualified for the Super 8s by playing some consistent cricket. Their win against New Zealand was one of the major upsets in the tournament. They won their matches comfortably and by big margins against PNG, Uganda, and the Kiwis. The Windies and the Afghans qualified for the Super 8s from Group C.

The real test for Rashid Khan and co begins now with tougher teams to face in the Super 8s. They face India (June 20), Australia (June 22) and Bangladesh (June 24).
