“I Will Be In” – Travis Head To Enter IPL 2024 Auction

[ad_1]

Australia National Cricket Team explosive batsman Travis Head has confirmed his entry in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 mini-auction.

The player auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is set to be held on December 19 in Dubai. The event will clash with the second ODI of the SA vs IND series in Gqeberha. The upcoming player auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be a mini-auction and it will be a one-day event.

Travis Head is known for his T20-style gameplay in ODI cricket and he is likely to bag a good deal at the upcoming auction. If he does get a contract, it will be his second stint in the marquee T20 league as he had a short 10-game stint with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during 2016-17 where he scored 205 runs at an average of 29.3 and a strike rate of 138.5.

“I was restricted a little bit on time last year with getting married” – Travis Head

Speaking to reporters ahead of Australia’s semi-final clash against South Africa, Travis Head revealed that he will be putting his name in the IPL auction. Travis Head added that he is hopeful of getting a deal this time around.

“I will be in,” Head told reporters in Kolkata when asked if he will put his name in the IPL auction next year, as quoted by PTI.

“I was restricted a little bit on time last year with getting married. I will put myself in this year and hopefully get picked up and get an opportunity. It was nice to be involved in it a long time ago.”

“… this is not a format I have been involved in much over the years. It was nice to be back in South Africa and contribute to the game,” he said.

Head further said that he has enjoyed his time in red-ball and now wants to explore more of T20 cricket.

“I feel like the game has evolved now and, next year, we have a massive block out, where I can play a fair bit of white-ball cricket if I get picked up or find myself in some teams around the world, so this is a path that I wanna try to explore.

“Having put all the eggs in the red-ball basket for a period of time now, I feel like I am really in good space mentally in my game, and if I can transfer through formats well then I am eager to explore what those opportunities are and get more experience and learn,” Travis Head said.
