GT Will Play IPL 2024 Final Despite Hardik Pandya’s Trade To MI

[ad_1]

Former Australia National Cricket Team spinner Brad Hogg has made a bold claim, stating that the Gujarat Titans (GT) will be playing the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 despite the trade of their captain Hardik Pandya to the Mumbai Indians (MI).

The IPL-winning captain Hardik Pandya has returned to Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He was retained by the Gujarat Titans (GT) on the player retention day, but a day after it was announced that he would be rejoining Mumbai Indians with whom he started his journey in the IPL.

Notably, Hardik Pandya came into the limelight following his stunning performances for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL, but he was released ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Hardik Pandya went on to join the newcomers Gujarat Titans (GT) after getting released by Mumbai Indians (MI) and in his inaugural season as skipper, he led GT to the title victory. Under his leadership, GT did well in their second as well and finished as the runners-up.

There’s been some big money exchange for Hardik Pandya – Brad Hogg

Speaking in a video posted on his official Instagram handle, Brad Hogg stated that the GT fans shouldn’t feel betrayed as Hardik did a good job for them in the first two seasons. He elaborated:

“Gujarat Titans fans you might be a bit upset that Hardik Pandya has gone back to the Mumbai Indians. Don’t feel betrayed. He has done a good job for you. He has got you to the finals twice as captain and you won one title while he has been at the helm. But there’s been some big money exchange for Hardik. I still feel you will be in the finals next year.”

“You got to feel for Hardik. He started out at Mumbai Indians. He wanted to play for them. He was distraught that he had to leave. It shows good character that while he wasn’t able to play for the team he wanted to, he still stepped up and led that team with high quality.”

Hogg added that the return of Hardik to Mumbai Indians will provide a better balance to the batting line-up of the side. He explained:

“Now that Hardik Pandya has gone back to the Mumbai Indians, this provides a better balance to their batting line-up and it helped Hardik to come and help Tim David out at the backend and move Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak up the order where they are best suited.”
