Ahead of his team’s ICC Cricket World Cup final against Australia, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said that he does not think that the memories of win in the 2015 World Cup semifinal against Men in Blue will serve as an advantage for the team.
India has entered its fourth World Cup final, having won the title in 1983 and 2011 while they lost in 2003 against Australia in South Africa. India will be aiming for their third title.
Ahead of the ICC World Cup final tomorrow, Team India captain Rohit Sharma says, “We prepared for this day much before. We played in the T20 World Cup and WTC final. In all three formats, we wanted to choose the right players. We have been doing this for the past two and a half years. We gave everyone role clarity. This has helped us a lot. All this has helped us so far and hopefully, we will do well in the final too.”
Team India captain Rohit Sharma says, “Emotionally it is a big thing, it is a huge game. There are big expectations. As a player, it is important for us to keep the focus rather than thinking about the occasion. Yes, it remains in the back of your mind, we cannot hide from it. For me, it is the biggest moment. I was born watching One day cricket.”
Team India captain Rohit Sharma says, “Our bowlers have done very well. It has not been easy containing opposition and defending totals. So, our bowlers have done well under pressure. They have been professional. Our spinners have done well in the middle overs by taking wickets.”

The captain further admitted that dew is unlikely to be a factor in Ahmedabad and hence ruled out the importance of toss factor.
“There was no grass on that wicket but this has a bit of grass on it. The wicket from India vs Pakistan was a lot drier. I still haven’t looked at the wicket today. But from my understanding, it’s going to be on a slower side. We’ll see the pitch tomorrow and assess. The temperature has dropped a bit as well. I don’t know how much of a factor the dew will be because in that Pakistan game there was a lot of dew during training but not on matchday. Same happened at Wankhede where there was dew one day before but not during the semis. I don’t think the toss will play a big role,” he sai
