Pakistan fast-bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is hoping that Australia opener David Warner does not have a good farewell Test series against Pakistan. Warner is all set to play his final Test series against Pakistan, with the first match scheduled to kick-start on Thursday, December 14.

Pakistan’s tour of Australia: Full coverage

Pakistan will be facing Australia in a three-match Test series, which will be Warner’s last. Warner had expressed his desire to end his Test career in Sydney, his home ground, in the final Test of the series against Pakistan. Australia host Pakistan in the first Test from December 14 in Perth, which will be followed by the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and the New Year’s Test in Sydney.

Speaking ahead of the series, Afridi called the Australian opener a wonderful guy, while adding that he hopes that Warner doesn’t have a good series against them. Pakistan will first take on the Prime Minister’s XI before the three-match Test series against the Baggy Greens.

“David Warner has had a great career. He’s played really good cricket for Australia, not only in T20Is but across all three formats. He’s a wonderful guy. It is his last series, hopefully, not very good against us,” said Afridi.

Warner has represented Australia in 109 Test matches, scoring 8487 runs at an average of 44.33. He has scored 25 hundreds and 36 half-centuries in the longest format of the game.

Pakistan will be looking to break their record of never winning a Test series down under, having failed on 13 occasions in the past.
