Ashok Dinda On Mohammed Shami Ind Vs Ban World Cup 2023 Abp Live Exclusive Shami Would Have Been In Playing 11s Of All Other Teams

India have had a blockbuster start to their ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign. Even though they had to face off the likes of Australia and Pakistan in their first three matches, they have managed to beat both these teams comprehensively while also getting the better of Afghanistan to remain undefeated in the competition so far. Despite India’s winning performance so far, there has been a bit of a discussion especially with the role of Shardul Thakur in the Playing 11.

However, former India pacer Ashok Dinda reckons that even though Shami can perform exceedingly well, if given a chance, the management will not make any changes to India’s side for the match against Bangladesh at the Maharastra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune on Thursday (October 19).

“Knowing Shami, I am sure he will perform if and when get gets the opportunity. He will deliver for sure. He has the quality and the confidence in his own skill set that he will deliver for sure. However, it is the team management’s call to not include him in the Playing 11. Shami would have been part of the Playing 11 in every other team in the world, “Dinda, Shami’s former Bengal and East Zone teammate told ABP Live in an Exclusive Interview.

When asked about Shardul’s role in the team, Dinda said: “Every individual has been assigned a role in the team. It is not fair to judge Shardul Thakur when he has only been getting 2-3 overs to bowl and hasn’t batted yet.”

Dinda, who is a Star Sports Bangla Cricket Expert for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, reckons that the team is all set to go with the same Playing 11 for the World Cup clash against Bangladesh.

“If the wicket is extremely dry only then Ravichandran Ashwin can come into the picture but that is unlikely to be the case. India is likely to play the same 11. Look at the mindset with which Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul are batting. This team looks different. Bangladesh may have won an ODI series against India but none of that matters. This is World Cup Cricket and this team looks on a mission.
