Virat Kohli puts pressure on the youngsters

[ad_1]

Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) cricketer Ambati Rayudu continued his criticism of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli. Ambati Rayudu stated that individual achievements like winning the “Orange Cap” wouldn’t lead the team to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) title.

Ambati Rayudu has been relentlessly trolling the Royal Challengers since their elimination in the recently concluded IPL 2024 season. The Faf du Plessis-led team defeated Rayudu’s former team, the Super Kings, to secure a berth in the playoffs. However, RCB failed to win “Eliminator” against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Congratulations To The KKR Team – Ambati Rayudu

Speaking after the final match between KKR and SRH, Ambati Rayudu highlighted the importance of every player making significant contributions, stating that the Orange Cap doesn’t secure an IPL title. Rayudu emphasized that every player’s contribution is crucial for winning the IPL.

“Congratulations to the KKR team for really standing up for stalwarts like Narine, Russell and Starc and also contributing their share in the team’s win. That’s how a team wins the IPL. We have seen this over the years. It’s not the Orange Cap that wins you the IPL but it is the contributions like 300 runs each (of many players),” Rayudu said.

In the IPL 2024, Virat Kohli earned the Orange Cap for his remarkable batting performance. Kohli scored 741 runs in 15 matches, with an average of 61.75 and a remarkable strike rate of over 154. Despite the 35-year-old batter’s brilliance, the Bengaluru team couldn’t clinch the title, continuing their title drought.

Virat Kohli Sets So High Standards – Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu suggested that Virat Kohli should lower his standards to ease pressure on younger players in the team. Rayudu highlighted that Kohli’s high standards often create challenges for the youngsters to match his contributions.

“Virat Kohli is a stalwart and a legend there in the team. He sets so high standards which puts pressure on the youngsters to emulate him. So, Virat needs to lower his standards a bit so that the youngsters can be in a good state of mind in the dressing room,” Rayudu added.

My Heart Truly Goes Out To All The RCB Supporters – Ambati Rayudu

Ambati Rayudu recently criticized RCB’s management, highlighting their tendency to prioritize individual achievements over team success. Rayudu urged the management to focus on the team’s interests rather than individual milestones for future success.

“My heart truly goes out to all the rcb supporters who have passionately supported the team over the years. If only the management and the leaders had the teams interests ahead of individual milestones .. rcb would have won multiple titles. Just remember how many fantastic players have been let go off. Force your management to bring players who will put teams interests first. A great new chapter can start from the mega auction,” Rayudu said in a post on social media.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru is one of three teams that have failed to secure a title despite being part of every season. The Bengaluru-based team reached the finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016. They have made the playoffs four times in the last five seasons but have been unable to break their title drought.
