Why Is Deepak Chahar Not Playing In IND Vs AUS 5th T20I

India have already taken an unassailable lead in the five-match T20I series against Australia. With the series in their kitty, India were expected to make changes aplenty in the final T20I in Bengaluru. However, captain Suyrakumar Yadav announced that there was only one change in their side. What was more surprising was the fact that Deepak Chahar, who had only come into the setup in the last T20I, made way for Arshdeep Singh.
It was then that Suryakumar explained why Deepak Chahar was not playing this match. The Mumbai Indians star revealed that Deepak had to fly back home for a medical emergency which is why Arshdeep takes his place in the Playing 11. Meanwhile, Australia have also made a change to their Playing 11 with Nathan Ellis coming in for Chris Green.
“We will have a bowl. The wicket feels a bit tacky and also there is a bit of weather around. One change for us. Ellis comes in for Green. Exciting times for selectors and youngsters, to make a mark and put pressure on some of the spots,” Australian captain Matthew Wade said after winning the toss at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
“We would have loved to bowl first. I told the team to not change anything, another opportunity to play in front of an amazing crowd, so just go and enjoy (is the message to the team). The way batting unit has delivered, just told them to believe and execute. Arshdeep comes in for Deepak Chahar. He (Deepak) has flown back home because of a medical emergency,” Suryakumar Yadav said.
